The meeting took up audit files of alleged financial irregularities in the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The identification parade was put off for the third time today after the complainant, brother of victim Khalil, didn’t turn up in pursuance of the probe team’s summons. ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday revoked an acquittal order by a high court of a death row convict in the murder case, and reinstated his life sentence, ARY News reported. PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday issued a stay order against the recent hike in medicine prices, ARY News reported. During hearing of a petition on non-plantation of trees in Punjab, director general Lahore Development Authority, director general Punjab Highway Authority (PHA) and officials of other relevant institutions turned up before the court. The DG PHA informed the court that Rs 27 billion were required for plantation of trees. RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) claimed on Thursday to have foiled a bid to smuggle drugs out of the country by nabbing two suspected smugglers at the Islamabad airport, ARY News reported. ANF officials said one kilogram of heroin amounting to millions of rupees was seized from the possession of the arrested smugglers. They were to board a Doha-bound flight (QR-633). The accused allegedly had links with an international network of drug suppliers, claimed the officials. It is pertinent to mention here that the ANF had earlier this week claimed to have seized 1995.475 kilograms drugs amounting to 1.684 billion rupees throughout the country.
